Tactical Solutions Selling and Shipping to New York Market Again – Boise, Idaho—Tactical Solutions has once again decided to start shipping and selling products to New York. The decision to stop selling and shipping their products to New York was brought on by the NY SAFE Act that was passed by the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, on January 15th, 2013.
The main issue for Tactical Solutions when it comes to NY SAFE Act is the fact that it limits the amount of rounds that can be loaded into the magazine to ten and the number of rounds one may load at one time to seven. Among these provisions, the definition of assault weapon was broadened from two identified features to one. The sale and/or transfer of newly defined assault weapons are banned within the state, although sales out of state are permitted. Possession of the newly defined assault weapons is allowed only if they bought at the time that the law was passed, and must be registered with the state within one year. Many other provisions in this act are enforced, including provisions dealing with mentally unstable individuals.
Fortunately for Tactical Solutions, several revisions have been made to the NY SAFE Act that will allow the company to start selling and shipping to New York once again. According to the CEO of Tactical Solutions, Darin Strickler, “Several years ago New York banned many firearm related items and features. This made the majority of our best selling items illegal in their state. In addition, their laws were being changed so rapidly it made it difficult for us to determine and keep up on what was legal and what was not. Therefore, at that time, we decided to not ship to the State of New York. Since then, some of those restrictions have been lifted and the regulatory environment has stabilized allowing us to ship product and maintain a better understanding of their restrictions and regulations.” Strickler said.
